When Does Avowed Early Access Start? Dates Explained
Avowedis preparing for its full launch, but is also offering eager players an early access period. Avowed is the next RPG from the much beloved Obsidian Entertainment. Along with being one of the most anticipated RPGs of 2025, the title shares the same fantasy setting as the Pillars of Eternity series. Despite the connection, there will be plenty to discover, since Avowed takes place in the Living Lands, a continent not seen in either Pillars games.
Avowed will be following the trends of recent Obsidian Entertainment games in its move to being an action RPG. Rather than Pillars' isometric viewpoint, players will be able to choose between a first-person perspective or a third-person freely. This choice can either help immerse players into the fantasy world before them or help get the whole picture during chaotic combat encounters.
Avowed Early Access Begins February 13

For players that pre-ordered eligible versions of Avowed, early access will start on February 13. Early access can be acquired in one of two ways, either by purchasing the premium version or Avowed's premium upgrade. The premium version comes with all the cosmetic and development goodies along with five days of early access. Meanwhile, the $25 premium upgrade edition is for Game Pass users to also get early access, or for those who only bought the standard edition initially. However, the latter does come with a higher price tag than just ordering the premium version initially.

Avowed's early access will run for five days, leading to the full launch for all players on February 18. The early access also seems to have no restrictions, meaning players can finish the whole game in those five days if desired. Five days is an overall good amount of time, rewarding the players who do give more, without denying the rest for too long. It can also be helpful for those on the fence about the game, getting some time to see it secondhand before committing to the full purchase.
Avowed certainly has the chance to be one of the best games of 2025, coming from a studio known for delivering high-quality titles. Avowed's edition differences for early access that further support Game Pass are also a commendable effort to further the subscription services' positive experience. Those who want to jump into Avowed as soon as possible should prepare for early access on February 13.
