When & Where To Watch Nintendo Switch 2's Full Reveal
After a long wait, the Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been revealed in a short teaser video. While Nintendo announced a while ago that they would be making a follow-up console for the Switch, they finally confirmed that it would be called the Switch 2 and gave players a look at it. A new Mario Kart game was also teased alongside the console, though the trailer only showed a small snippet of game footage.
Nintendo has promised to provide a more in-depth look at the console in an upcoming Nintendo Direct and add more details to its website about which games will and won’t be backward compatible with the new console. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait slightly longer before getting a better look at the Switch 2.

Nintendo Switch 2 Will Be Fully Revealed During April’s Nintendo Direct
Even though the initial reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 was more of a teaser, the full reveal will occur during a Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 2, 2025. Currently, there is no exact time, but it will likely be announced before April 2. Shortly after that, players in Paris, London, Berlin, Milan, Amsterdam, and Madrid will have a chance to have a hands-on experience with the Switch 2 at special events held April 11-April 13. Registration for the events is open January 17-January 26, so anyone interested in going should head over to Nintendo and sign up
The first-look trailer for the Switch 2 showed off some of the system’s new hardware, such as the Joy-Cons. The Nintendo Direct presentation will likely go into more detail about the new additions to the console and how it will differ from the original Switch. A more detailed demo could also involve more gameplay footage, meaning a better look at the new Mario Kart.

Nintendo Directs stream from Nintendo’s official YouTube channels. Anyone who misses it on the day can also go to the Nintendo Direct Archive to see it or any other Nintendo Direct they want to catch up on. This includes new Joy-Cons that look easier to attach and detach and a new USB-C port on the top, which could be more convenient for charging while playing the console as a handheld.
