"Why Can't I Go In Here?": Stardew Valley Player Baffled By Mine Detail
One perceptive Stardew Valleyplayer notices a hidden crevice while deep in the mines, wondering its purpose. Filled with 120 floors, players will attempt to journey down these caverns, taking a ladder at each level to continue downwards. Intending to go deeper to locate better resources, gamers need to keep themselves alive and strategize the best ways possible to reach the bottom.
While going down the mines for resources, the player Meepx13 saw something a little out of the ordinary. With a dark archway in the wall that a pathway continues into, this area seems very much like a path that should be possible to take. Despite that, though, this route is nothing more than just visual decor, leaving the player to ask "Why can't I go in here?" This question stirred up quite a response from other fans, who are also wondering why these seemingly random corridors cannot be accessed, but questioned whether they could be later on down the line.
The Mines In Stardew Valley Have A Few Unusable Features
Players Wish These Areas Were Accessible
With players jokingly terming it the "forbidden stardew cave", this area is known to fans as something that's tripped them up before. While it appears like an area that players should be able to walk through and explore, this archway is nothing more than just a decorative change in appearance to the wall, adding some realism but often letting down players. Leaving many to question how it's accessible, as though it's a secret they're yet to unlock, it does seem unfortunate this is nothing more than for looks.
While unconfirmed, one player adds some context that may leave these areas making a little bit more sense: "Actually he [ConcernedApe] was going to have farming in the mines but didn't implement it because it didn't fit. So those are left over artifacts from when he was gonna include that in the game." If true, it would reveal the purpose of these leftover areas and why they'd remain as visual details that are inaccessible to the player. There may still be potential for these areas down the line though, as the farm's cave shows players what maybe could've been in these spots.
Our Take: The Minor Details Are Still Important In Stardew Valley
Even If They Are Just For Show
Stardew Valley has a lot of little details scattered throughout the game, some of which can be interacted with and others are just for show. While this little cave nook was likely just added for depth and looks, it wouldn't be too far-fetched for developer ConcernedApe to take it further. Especially as he's previously taken ideas from fans to enhance the game, there may
It's also always possible that this little feature is more than what meets the eye, as ConcernedApe is known for his large, free content updates. Perhaps this little nook is an indication of something he's still planning to add down the line, or maybe it is just going to stay as a visual detail to make things a bit more immersive. Either way, Stardew Valley always keeps players on their toes and discovering new secrets - even if they're inaccessible, for now.
