John Cena Shocks The World

John Cena Turns Heel In An All-Time Classic Moment

Cena Heel Turn WWE

There are very few "where were you when...happened" moments in wrestling history. Hogan at Bash At The Beach, the night The Streak was broken, and now "where were you the night John Cena turned heel?" Even after Cody dropped an F-bomb to tell Dwayne where to stick his big offer, when The Rock signaled to Cena to drop Cody Rhodes, it didn't feel real. Using Dusty Rhodes's Rolex to beat him senseless after a low blow, Cena sold out everything he ever stood for in nearly 18 exhilarating minutes. This was the apex of the Paul Levesque-era thus far. How excited are you for WrestleMania?

In the immediate future, all questions are going to be about a heel John Cena. This is an event fans never thought they'd see, that they have begged for throughout his entire career. John Cena will walk into WrestleMania as the most hated man in WWE. The idea that fans will oppose their hero's quest to be the most decorated WWE Champion in history beggars belief, but these are the consequences of Cena's diabolical actions of this evening. The surreal image of one of the world's biggest rappers, laughing at the bleeding WWE Champion, alongside a heel John Cena, while The Rock whipped Cody with a weight belt will live forever. WrestleMania 41 cannot come soon enough.

Bianca Belair Overcomes The Odds

Through Heartache, The EST Is Going To WrestleMania

Bianca Elimination Chamber

This was an incredible PLE, and the women of WWE got things off to a red-hot start. Jade Cargill returned to attack Naomi, ending the search for who put her out of action for months. As Naomi was beaten severely and had her lifeless body slammed in the chamber's door, Cargill was marched to the back by a slew of WWE officials. Inside her pod, Bianca Belair lay broken as both of her tag team partners disappeared into the night.

The EST has spent a year in the women's Tag Team division, and as she pinned Liv Morgan after a great Oblivion-into-KOD sequence, it's time for Belair to return to single's competition face the winner of Monday Night Raw's match between Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. It was a match in which The Prodigy, Roxanne Perez, stood out again, Alexa Bliss had several moments that reintroduced her to the top of the women's division, and Liv Morgan took a hair whip that literally split her skin. This was a fantastic opener. The women of WWE delivered, but Bianca Belair will be in the WWE title match at WrestleMania.

Sami Zayn And Kevin Owens Go To War

A Match Of The Year Contender From Two Of The Best In The Business

Violent, personal, primal, and draining, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens had the best match of their WWE career to date in this Unsanctioned classic. The Canadian duo tore each other apart in a grueling affair, but Zayn and Owens' refusal to give in was uncomfortable viewing. Their "never say die" attitude felt more impressive than any of the many great spots in the match, as the former best friends' feud reached such a stage of bitterness, that they both took more damage than should be legal.

Owens got the win after twice powerbombing Sami into the ring apron, a callback to what he did to Zayn on his very first night with the company in NXT. Orton's return means him and Owens are WrestleMania bound, but Zayn took so much damage that Sami's place at the biggest show of the year seems unlikely. This is a night in which John Cena will understandably be the talking point of the night, but Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn was the highlight of Elimination Chamber.

In one of the most shocking moments in WWE history, John Cena turned heel, aligning himself with The Rock for his Farewell Tour. It was a must-see PLE which featured a Match of the Year contender from Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, Liv Morgan taking a hair whip that will be spoken about for years, and Bianca Belair overcoming heartbreak to reach WrestleMania. To repeat, John Cena is going to work as a heel on his Farewell Tour, starting with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.
