XO Kitty: 5 Reasons Kitty & Yuri Should Be Endgame (& 5 Reasons It Should Be Kitty & Min Ho)

Warning: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for XO, Kitty season 2!

The two most popular ships inXO, Kittyare Kitty and Min Ho and Yuri and Kitty, and multiple reasons exist why each couple should be the Netflix show’s endgame. Although the Netflix show incorporates family-centric storylines, the romances in XO, Kitty are heavily emphasized, which fits with the romantic-comedy franchise. Thus far, four individuals have been teased as potential romantic partners for the titular main character: Dae, Yuri, Praveena, and Min Ho. However, Dae and Praveena can be effectively ruled out by the end of XO, Kitty season 2.

Dae has found a new love interest, and Dae and Eunice are one of the sweetest couples in the entire series. Meanwhile, Kitty cheats on Praveena, so they break up, and Praveena moves on to a relationship with Juliana. This leaves Yuri and Min Ho as love interests for the XO, Kitty main character. While most fans fall heavily into one group or the other, there’s an argument for both couples, and either could feasibly be XO, Kitty’s endgame.

10 Yuri & Kitty: They Support Each Other Even When They’re Fighting

Kitty And Yuri Have Each Other's Backs Most Of The Time

Kitty and Yuri haven’t always been on good terms in XO, Kitty, but they support each other even when they’re fighting. Even before they developed a connection, Kitty chewed out a boy who was trying to flirt with her by bashing Yuri. After they become friends, the titular main character worries about Yuri’s estrangement from her mom, even when she’s angry that Yuri lied. She gives Juliana the suggestion that Yuri talk to her mom about why she’s upset.

On the other hand, Yuri tells her mom that Kitty should stay at KISS while upset about Kitty hiding the secret of her brother. She also uses her fame and family name to convince Jiwan to talk to Kitty about the family rift in XO, Kitty, even though they aren’t speaking. She doesn’t even tell Kitty what she did to get credit, one of her most selfless actions in the series. The support during contention is important for an endgame couple because long-term relationships will fight, but they still have to defend each other during those times.

9 Kitty & Min Ho: Min Ho Is Honest About His Feelings

Min Ho Says What He Feels, Whether Good Or Bad

Whether he’s feeling happy, annoyed, or arrogant, Min Ho is upfront about his feelings, which is something that can’t be said for Kitty’s other love interests. He’s upfront about the fact that he doesn’t like or want Kitty there at the start of XO, Kitty and he tells her once he falls in love. It doesn’t just apply to Kitty, though. In XO, Kitty season 2, he’s upfront about the fact that he’s upset with his dad and longs for attention. He expresses his care for Dae through his actions.

On the other hand, Dae keeps his emotions hidden from Kitty throughout most of XO, Kitty season 1, keeping the fake relationship hidden instead of being honest. Yuri denies her feelings for Kitty on the basis that “she’s totally straight,” making her girlfriend jealous rather than being upfront. Neither of them is ever particularly vulnerable with the people they love, a place where they need to grow. As a couple, Kitty would rarely need to worry if Min Ho was hiding how he felt, while she couldn’t have that security with the others.

8 Yuri & Kitty: Yuri Apologizes To Kitty For Her Bad Choices

Yuri Has A Degree Of Self-Awareness & Remorse That's Important

Both Yuri and Min Ho, as love interests for Kitty, fall into the enemies-to-lovers trope. They both start out acting mean towards Kitty, making her life harder. Yuri stops Dae from telling Kitty about the fake relationship, sows doubts about Kitty’s trustworthiness, and steals the necklace. Min Ho treats her terribly, spreads the rumor that she’s a stalker, isolates her at school, and outs her housing situation to the dorm advisor. However, they become friends and then develop a romantic attraction.

Still, one big difference between the two romances makes Yuri a better choice– Yuri acknowledges her mistakes, explains her reasoning, and apologizes when necessary. Yuri explains the fake relationship to Kitty on the school trip, revealing that she is a lesbian. She acknowledges that she was an idiot for taking the necklace, recognizing that it was wrong. In XO, Kitty season 2, she apologizes for icing Kitty out after the kiss. Meanwhile, Min Ho never acknowledges his mean behavior, let alone apologizes or tries to make things right.

7 Kitty & Min Ho: They Have Strong Repartee

The Back-And-Forth Banter Appeals To Many Fans

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Kitty’s friendship and potential romance with Min Ho is their repartee. Throughout both seasons of XO, Kitty, the two teens bounce off each other, leading to quick-witted and snarky remarks that are entertaining to watch. While Min Ho’s comments come across as mean-spirited at first, the ambiance becomes more playful once they become friends about halfway through XO, Kitty season 1.

After that, they constantly push each other’s buttons, creating lively interactions, except for when they’re having a genuine, emotional moment. The struggle will be maintaining this dynamic if they ever get into a relationship, a constant issue when it comes to the enemies-to-lovers trope. If XO, Kitty managed to retain the existing dynamic while adding a romantic element, Kitty and Min Ho could make a strong couple.

It's important to remember that no matter who Kitty ends up with, she will still be a bisexual teenager, as one relationship doesn't define a person's sexuality.

6 Yuri & Kitty: Kitty Puts Yuri’s Desires Ahead Of Her Own

Kitty's Selflessness Shows How Much She Cares About Yuri

From the time Kitty develops feelings for Yuri, she repeatedly puts Yuri's emotions and desires ahead of her own. She helps Yuri get Juliana back. She continues living in the dorm because Yuri misses her & is excited about living together. Although she loves Yuri, she keeps her feelings to herself so she doesn't disrupt Yuri and Juliana's relationship. Even the kiss isn't initiated by Kitty, with Yuri leaning in first.

This shows just how much Kitty cares about Yuri, and it could contribute to her being a great girlfriend to her enemy-turned-friend. Great relationships require both a strong self-concept and a degree of selflessness. If Yuri grows a bit and develops the same kind of selflessness towards Kitty, she and Kitty could be an incredible endgame. Her help with Jiwan proves she has the potential.

5 Kitty & Min Ho: They Have Been The Center Of Both Season Ending Cliffhangers

The Story Seems To Be Setting Up Min Ho & Kitty As Endgame With The Finale Episodes

One of the biggest reasons Min Ho & Kitty should be endgame is the fact that the duo has been at the center of both season cliffhangers. Considering Netflix cancels its original shows far too soon, Min Ho's cliffhanger ending felt like the writers making sure viewers knew Kitty and Min Ho was a real option, and Kitty smiling felt like the showrunner trying to tell the audience that Kitty could have feelings for Min Ho.

The ending of XO, Kitty season 2 makes the season 1 cliffhanger seem less like a random occurrence. XO, Kitty season 3 seems less likely after Netflix's recent slew of shocking cancelations. If the show's canceled, fans are left with Kitty and Min Ho as endgame, which implies that they will be the show's endgame.

4 Yuri & Kitty: They Show Their Love For Partners In Big Ways

These Two Are Very Affectionate When In A Relationship

Kitty and Yuri are both characters who are willing to go to great lengths for their partners in a relationship, which can be seen in their first loves. In order to be with Dae, Kitty moves halfway around the world to a country where she knows nobody and can barely speak Korean or read Hangul. Meanwhile, Yuri is willing to come out to her mother, which is extremely taboo in Korean culture, to defend her relationship with Juliana. She also plans to fly to Iceland to spend time with Juliana. If they start a relationship, their love could be epic.

Meanwhile, Dae never showed these gestures of love of his own volition, only putting together the date in XO, Kitty season 1 at the behest of Yuri. Min Ho also doesn’t display these big gestures while in a relationship, but that’s mostly because he’s never been in a serious relationship with a girlfriend. His romance with Madison was fun and casual, while Stella was a rebound.

3 Kitty & Min Ho: Min Ho & Kitty Become Really Great Friends

Friendship Could Be A Good Foundation For Kitty & Min Ho's Relationship

Many of the best endgame couples of all time build their relationship on a foundation of friendship, only getting together after having a platonic dynamic. Luckily, by the finale of XO, Kitty's second season, Kitty and Min Ho have this. If Kitty and Min Ho had gotten together at the end of XO, Kitty season 1, they wouldn’t possess a strong foundation. Chuseok is sweet and includes some vulnerability, but they still don’t have much emotional disclosure otherwise.

However, XO, Kitty season 2 changes this, creating a really great friendship between the duo. They both support each other through difficult situations with their families. Their communication is better, and they trust each other with fears and more painful emotions. The friendship between Kitty and Min Ho could help increase their stability as a romantic couple, increasing the chances of a successful long-term relationship.

2 Yuri & Kitty: Kitty & Yuri Are Attuned To Each Other’s Needs

The Sapphic Pair Knows What Each Other Needs Most Of The Time

Throughout the Netflix show, Kitty and Yuri are constantly attuned to each other’s needs, at least up until Yuri’s villainization in the second half of XO, Kitty season 2. In season 1, Kitty recognizes that Yuri needs to talk to her girlfriend, so she enlists Margot’s help. In season 2, she is the one who tells Juliana that Yuri longs to be on better terms with her mom, suggesting that Yuri explain why she’s upset to Gina.

In the same way, Yuri frequently recognizes what Kitty needs without being told. She willingly steps in to help Kitty study for finals, makes her a study playlist, and offers to help with the talent show – none of which can be said about Min Ho. In XO, Kitty season 2, she recognizes that Kitty needs reassurance after watching the VHS tape, telling Kitty that she’s like her mom because they’re both meddlers. The fact that they understand one another so well and can fulfill each other’s needs gives them synergy, which would make them a fantastic endgame couple.

1 Kitty & Min Ho: Most Fans Want This Ship

These Two As XO, Kitty Endgame Would Make Most Fans Happy

A significant goal of TV shows and movies is often making the fanbase happy. From the time Netflix dropped the first XO, Kitty trailer, fans started shipping Kitty with Min Ho, becoming fervent that they were the best couple. Since then, the Min Ho and Kitty shippers have only continued to grow in number, becoming the most prominent group within the XO, Kitty audience. The ship has gained the ship names KinHo and MoonCovey.

Because of the size and passion of this group, even Gia Kim, who plays Yuri, said she thinks the show will make Min Ho and Kitty endgame because anything else would upset too many people (via Style Caster).XO, Kittymight have a better chance of lasting more than a couple of seasons if they make Kitty and Min Ho get together, since Netflix bases many of their decisions on views alone. No matter what, the best-case scenario is that Kitty, Yuri, and Min Ho all end up self-assured and happy in their lives, regardless of their romantic relationships.
