In what some suspected was producer manipulation, for the first time, the first impression rose recipient, Alexe Godin, also automatically received the first one-on-one date. During the first group date, Zoe McGrady ruffled feathers by stealing Grant away from the other women multiple times.

During The Bachelor season 29, episode 2, Zoe McGrady stole Grant away for some extended one-on-one time during a basketball slam dunk contest, which greatly upset and angered some of the women.

In addition, Zoe interrupted Juliana Pasquarosa when she was talking to Grant at the afterparty, which enraged Alli Jo Hinkes, who hadn't had any alone time with him. Alli Jo stole Grant away from Zoe, who then returned to do the same thing to her. All of Jesse's predictions about Zoe's interruptions were true. The tug-of-war among the women for the Bachelor lead's one-on-one time can get very embarrassing because they seem so desperate for his attention. The way that they interrupt each other and argue about it later is very childish. They shouldn't waste their time with the petty drama. In addition, they should hold Grant accountable for leaving in the middle of conversations to speak to other women. No one ever questions why the lead doesn't simply say no, and refuses to allow the women to interrupt each other and steal him away.

Since Jesse offered his advice after TheBachelor season 29 wrapped filming, the women didn't have the chance to take it when they appeared in Grant's season. However, a lot of it is common sense, and they should've come to those conclusions themselves, especially because it's not season 1 and they've seen what could happen. Bachelor group dates can be awkward and dramatic, but the women don't have to make it worse by stealing Grant for a second, or, in Zoe's case, way longer.
