3 Dead After SUV Hits Bear On I-70

SUV carrying seven people collided with a bear in the westbound lanes near Rifle.

Three people—two of them minors—were killed and four people were injured when a 2007 Chevy SUV hit a bear in the westbound lanes of I-70. Several of the survivors have life-threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation, but troopers don’t believe that drugs or alcohol were involved.
