Referred to as a "Jaw-dropping event" at the end of the trailer, the exciting midseason premiere does not look like something to miss.

A two-part event is a first for Doctor Odyssey. Since premiering in September 2024, the medical drama has featured an intriguing, and separate, theme each week. Even though some Doctor Odyssey theme weeks were arguably more ridiculous than the last, they were all a part of individual episodes that could be watched on their own.

3 A New Doctor Joins The Odyssey’s Medical Team

The Doctor Odyssey midseason trailer has revealed that a new doctor is joining The Odyssey's medical crew. While treating a patient, Avery and Max are joined by a trauma surgeon, Dr. Brooke Lane, played by Adrianne Palicki. Brooke is the first new medical crew member to join the team since Max joined in the premiere. With four medical professionals working together in the confined spaces of The Odyssey's medical clinic, it might get a little crowded.

Adrianne Palicki is the first main cast member to join Doctor Odyssey since Laura Harrier joined as Vivian in episode 4, "Wellness Week."

Although her introduction was short, Brooke and Avery are already off to a bad start. Through the way Avery questioned Brooke's purpose in the medical room, it seems as though they were never formally introduced. This not only risks damaging the trust that the medical team has formed throughout part 1 but also adds an interesting twist to the personal relationships on board.

Besides Brooke joining The Odyssey's medical crew, she also joins Doctor Odyssey's love triangle. Part 1 ended off with Avery unsure about her relationship with Max and Tristan as they both showed interest in her but were not interested in sharing her in a polyamorous relationship, which is what Avery wanted. As such, when Brooke is seen leaving Max's room in just a towel in the midseason trailer, it adds a level of complication to the already complicated love triangle.

Avery's frustration at the scene is interesting to note. Brooke's arrival and interest in Max could have forced Avery to realize she wanted Max all along. Avery's jealousy is hypocritical but does add an intriguing depth to the plot.

1 Tristan Is Likely A Victim Of A Shark Attack

Tristan's Minor Appearance In The Trailer Hints At A Tragic Story

Although Tristan has a major role at the start of the trailer, he is largely absent from the rest of it. His absence is most noticeable in the operating room. With the cameras angled away from the injured patients, only Max, Avery, and Brooke are visible. The smaller team, in combination with the ominous threat of shark attacks in Doctor Odyssey, seems to imply a tragic story for Tristan.

While Tristan's recovery is implied by his short appearances throughout the trailer, there is no telling how long he will remain injured. Despite the uncertainty of Tristan's fate, there is no doubt that Max and Avery will do whatever they can to help save him. The bond between the trio may overlap with romantic interest, but the Doctor Odyssey team would never let one of their own down.
