After All These Years, Wonder Woman Just Gave Diana's Best Friend a Powerful Makeover
Warning! Preview Pages ahead for Absolute Wonder Woman #4!Everything in Wonder Woman's life has changed in the Absolute Universe, including her best friend, Etta Candy. Diana has been busy taking on a powerful monster that threatens to destroy everything, and if Wonder Woman wants to stop it, she's going to need some help from a mystical, new friend.
In a preview for Absolute Wonder Woman #4 by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman, Etta Candy is heading out to help save others from the Tetracide and bids goodbye to her sister, Gia. However, just as she leaves, Etta's old friend Steve Trevor arrives with Absolute Wonder Woman.
Steve introduces Diana to the sisters and tells them that Diana is in need of a witch's assistance. Attention turns to Gia and Diana reassures her that she's only come for some ingredients. Absolute Wonder Woman needs her arm back and only Gia can provide the ingredients Diana needs for a spell.
Absolute Wonder Woman Meets Etta Candy (And Her Mystical Sister)
Wonder Woman is in Need of Practical Magic
The Absolute Universe is a world founded on Darkseid's principles and things haven't been easy for Diana. Separated from the Amazons and raised in hell, Diana had a lot working against her. Yet she still grew up to be a powerful warrior who revealed herself to the world just in the nick of time. A terrible monster known as the Tetracide has arrived in Gateway City, and it won't stop until it's killed the city's population. But Absolute Wonder Woman has battled it over and over, attacking it with mystical weapons, only managing to lose her arm in the process.
Interestingly enough, Etta Candy was also one of the first people that the Prime Universe Wonder Woman met when she left Paradise Island. Etta even introduced Diana to her sorority, the Holliday Girls, a sorority that often assisted Wonder Woman on her adventures. But instead of a collegiate sisterhood, this version of Wonder Woman is more in need of a coven. While Etta doesn't appear to be a practicing witch, Gia has everything Diana needs (possibly enough for her to get her arm back). It's an interesting take on Wonder Woman's friends, and one that will hopefully pay off.
Absolute Wonder Woman is Forging a New Kind of Sisterhood
No Amazons, But Maybe a Coven is Enough?
Like every other hero in the Absolute Universe, Diana has the deck stacked against her, and she doesn't have the good fortune of the Amazons or their magics to aid her. But Gia's shop seems to have everything that Wonder Woman needs at the moment. While it just seems that Gia is the mystical one, Etta appears to be willing to help in whatever way she can. Sure, they're not the Amazons, but they're good-hearted people that are down to help stop the monster invading their town. Hopefully, this new sisterhood can help Absolute Wonder Woman save the day.
