Big Marsh Park Gets $900k for Improvements
The Chicago Park District received a $900,000 grant to restore wetlands in 278-acre Big Marsh Park.

Big Marsh Park—a former industrial site that the Park District acquired in 2011—opened to the public last year. Last fall, it added the biggest bike park of its kind in the Midwest. And now Big Marsh is improving 5.6 acres of native wetland habitat thanks to a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Sustain Our Great Lakes Program.
