Boom in ATV Tourism Irks North Country Locals

New Hampshire tourism officials have been working to bring ATV riders to Gorham, on the edge of the White Mountains and adjacent to the Ride the Wilds trail network, for years. But now that their efforts are paying off, not all locals are happy with the swelling ranks of off-road visitors. Among their complaints: Revving ATV engines ruin the quiet in the formerly peaceful town and scare away other travelers looking for a more traditional New England getaway.
