Breakneck Ridge Trail to Close For Repairs

Breakneck Ridge, the parking lot, and the area around the train stop will be off-limits starting January 1.

The popular Breakneck Ridge trail will be closed “indefinitely” starting January 1, and park authorities plan to educate the public about the other trails in the area. Says Barbara Scuccimarra, who represents Philipstown in the Putnam County Legislature, “Breakneck is a mess. The mountain is a mess. The Route 9D corridor is a mess.” More information about the improvements—including bike paths, better train platforms, and a new welcome center—can be found here.
