An Oakland couple was rescued by helicopter after getting lost on Mt. Tallac. Michael Cantor, 50, and Susan Cantor, 48, were disoriented by lingering patches of snow on the trail and headed down the mountain’s east slope. After getting fatigued, they decided to stay put and call for help—a decision that officials said may have saved their lives.
