Married At First Sight Fans Discuss "Nightmare" Ick Factor In Juan Franco & Karla Juarez's Tantric Therapy Session
Married at First Sight season 18 couple Juan Franco and Karla Juarez had a cringy tantric therapy session that sent fans over the edge. Juan and Karla had chemistry when they met as strangers at the altar but have been encountering issues thereafter. Juan is not feeling the attraction spark towards Karla, who admittedly needs a lot of affection in a relationship. To bridge the gap in the intimacy factor in their marriage, expert Dr. Pia Holec sent the pair a tantric therapist to try and help them connect. However, the tantric session with the therapist was over-the-top and has shocked and dismayed fans.
Reddit user u/Revolutionary-Cow668 started a thread that shared a screen capture of Juan laying down while Karla and the tantric therapist ran roses over his shirtless body. The thread's content relayed a strong sentiment.
"I actually can't believe what I just watched. There were so many unexpected elements! Older woman in lingerie. Tandom rose rubbing. Humming. Just wow."
Other Redditors landed in the comments to express their similar thoughts on the unhinged scene."Nightmare fuel," "So cringe," and "I can’t believe this is real!" were some of the other replies given in response to the bizarre scene. While the exercise had a point to bringing Juan and Karla closer together, fans were off-put by the entire interaction.
What MAFS Fans Reaction To The Tantric Scene Means
The MAFS Tantric Therapy Scene Was Over-The-Top
The tantric therapist wearing négligée and lingerie that had to be blurred out, rubbing Juan in intimate areas with the rose with Karla, and breathing on his face really sent Married at First Sight fans for a loop.
"If someone I didn’t know walked in off the street and blew their breath in my face, I’d be mad right there, let alone the crazy outfit and exposed crotch. That’s too much! They hired a lunatic on purpose."
The whole exercise was unnecessary, and while Juan and Karla tried to take it seriously, the nature of the tantric experience with the wild therapist was nightmarish.
Viewers didn't think the session was helpful; if anything, they were creeped out by it.
Our Take On Juan & Karla's Intimacy Therapy Exercise
Did The Exercise Bring Karla & Juan Closer Together?
Karla and Juan did embrace the session, but they both seemed to be hiding how uncomfortable it made them. Juan said the exercises were "awkward" for him, but that he was "trying to be as serious as possible about the experience." He called the exercise a "good start" to intimacy between him and Karla, and even wanted Karla to have a turn being the receiver after the therapist left. However, Karla didn't feel like Juan took the experience seriously, which means there's a disconnect.
Juan and Karla are trying to make their Married at First Sight marriage work, but the spark between them has not been there. The tantric exercise was largely unhelpful for them, and it took viewers aback. Moving forward, Juan and Karla can hopefully laugh about the strange experience with the therapist and move forward on their own terms.
