Monster Hunter Wilds Roadmap: All Confirmed Updates For 2025

After releasing plenty of teasers for the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has delivered what may be the very last trailer seen before the highly anticipated sequel finally releases. The launch trailer was a visual spectacle that showcased every large monster making its way into Wilds, finally showing off the dynamic duo Rathalos and Rathian in stunning fidelity. While the footage displayed plenty of new moves and intense combat encounters in action, it also teased more of the Wilds' upcoming storyline.

The mysterious monster that only appeared briefly in the previous trailer was also given more of a spotlight in Wilds' launch trailer, a titanic leviathan dominating the Iceshard cliffs with elemental supremacy. With Capcom already addressing the biggest problems with the beta, Monster Hunter Wilds is already looking towards the future with new content coming to the game after release. Although there aren't many details available so far, there's already one fan-favorite monster that won't be a long wait before it makes its way into Wilds.

The Future Is Already Looking Bright For Monster Hunter WildsMonster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update Roadmap featuring Mizutsune

During the most recent PlayStation State of Play, Capcom unveiled the start of its perpetual roadmap for Monster Hunter Wilds, with the very first addition being the fan-favorite Mizutsune splashing its way into the next generation. While no specific dates have been given for each of the upcoming free title updates, they seem to be adding additional content seasonally for the time being. Given that Wilds is releasing at the tail end of winter, there's likely not to be much of a wait before Mizutsune arrives this spring, alongside several new event quests, miscellaneous content updates, and cosmetic DLC packs.

There's likely to not be much of a wait before Mizutsune arrives this spring.

Even though some players may be worried that Monster Hunter Wilds has already tipped its hand and revealed every monster coming into the full game, its predecessors had plenty of hidden surprises for players to face off against, with Wilds more than likely to follow suit. Even Wilds' roadmap is likely to follow a similar release pattern to Rise, given its layout and early announcement similarities.

While even less information has been revealed about Wilds' next title update in the following summer season, Capcom has already confirmed one additional monster alongside even more brand-new event quests to complete. Future additions are also likely to increase in intensity over time, providing significant challenges with deadly end-game threats.

What Updates Are Coming To MH Wilds This Year

Everything Players Can Expect From Wilds' Post-Launch Content

Although there's been little information revealed about Monster Hunter Wilds post-game content, previous entries in the franchise offer a relatively clear picture of what players can expect for the future of Wilds. Capcom will likely release Wilds' paid master rank expansion roughly a year after release, greatly expanding the pool of monsters and taking the story to even more climactic heights. In the meantime, players can expect many returning monsters, a vast number of rewarding event quests, enhanced versions of existing monsters, and potentially even a new area within the first year following Wilds' release.

Compared to Wilds' offering of roughly 22 monsters revealed as of the most recent trailers, Wilds still has a long way to go before it gets close to the offerings provided by the previous Monster Hunter World and Rise. Since World and Rise offered 71 and 66 large monsters, respectively, after their expansion and numerous title updates, there's still plenty of room for fan-favorite returns and creative new offerings to grace Wilds throughout its lifespan.

With Wilds' exciting offerings of Nu Udra and the massive Jin Dahaad revealed on the official Monser Hunter X account, fixing the biggest issue with the series by solving its long-standing monster skeleton problem. With the latest change, Monster Hunter Wilds has opened the door for long-awaited leviathans like Lagiacrus to finally make their way into the next generation of the franchise.
