SoCal Monuments May Be Spared From Trump Changes

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke recommended that six national monuments be reduced, but not the San Gabriels or Mojave Trails.

Both the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument (346,177 acres) and the Mojave Trails National Monument (1.6 million acres) have so far dodged proposed reductions of public lands by the Trump administration—including their most recent proposal. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is still reviewing Giant Sequoia National Monument, Carrizo Plain National Monument, and Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument.
