Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Release Date Confirmed With New Gameplay Trailer, Pre-Orders Are Live Now
Remakes of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 have been revealed, after a mysterious countdown appeared on the official website last week. Released in 2001 and 2002, respectively, the original versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 revolutionized the skating gameplay introduced in the first two games. Introducing new tricks, new gear, and, of course, new music, these games furthered the series' legacy as the premiere skating game that defined a generation.
Remakes of the first two games, bundled in a release called Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, previously impressed in 2020, providing a faithful adaptation of the gameplay that fans loved, with flashier new graphics and an online multiplayer function, allowing friends to skate together worldwide. Now, that's being followed by the upcoming release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, an adaptation of the next two games in the series along just the same lines, due for release on July 11. Pre-orders are available today via the official Tony Hawk's series website.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 Nailed The Remake
The new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 remakes were revealed in a 90-second trailer (seen above) as soon as the countdown expired. The trailer provides a look at what appears to be very familiar gameplay; it even directly juxtaposes scenes from the upcoming remakes with similar scenes from the original games. Familiar levels, like THPS 3's nighttime take on the neon lights of Tokyo, feature prominently here, as skaters dodge flames and perform death-defying tricks in slow motion.

After Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, There’s One Remake I Want To See ASAP
With new evidence of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 coming soon, there are another set of games in the series that should be the next remake in line.
The first round of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remakes was a lot of fun. It provided a seamless experience on modern consoles, perfectly transferring that early 2000s nostalgia to players both old and new. Personally, I particularly enjoyed the ability to play online with my long-distance friends.

THPS Remakes Leaked Last Month
The reveal was spoiled a couple of weeks ago, when eagle-eyed fans noticed that the official Tony Hawk's website, hosting a mysterious, untitled countdown clock, contained the text "thps 3 4 countdown" in its HTML source code. Further details allegedly leaked this morning, with some fans, like @billbil_kun on X (formerly Twitter) claiming a release date of July 11, with three days of early access for those who preorder the Deluxe or Collector's Editions. All that was confirmed when the countdown clock expired, revealing the trailer and preorder structure as promised.
Between this and the Skate revival, which recently launched a playtest, we appear to be in a bit of a skating game renaissance. That's a beautiful thing - this genre has fallen by the wayside in recent years, and, until just recently, it was basically unheard of to see a big, triple-A skating game release. Now, though, it's becoming more commonplace, and I couldn't be happier for it. The next round of remakes looks just as cool, and I look forward to being able to play on some new courses when Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 remakes hit shelves this summer.
