What Happened To JD Madison After Southern Charm Season 4
JD Madison from Southern Charmhasn't been spotted in seasons, and fans are wondering what happened to him. Through the years, there have been cast shakeups, with many people coming and going. Because he's friends with Thomas Ravenel, fans knew that he wouldn't last long on the series.
Even though JD was never an official part of the Southern Charm cast, viewers considered him to be a cast member in his own right, since he always seemed to be hanging out with the guys. In Charleston, JD was best known as a real estate developer and businessman, who was very close to Thomas. JD often hosted lavish events, and frequently acted as Thomas' confidant when he was going through relationship issues with Kathryn Dennis. JD had his own issues, which he covered up pretty well, but they eventually resulted in him being excommunicated from the group.
JD Was Accused Of Assualt
After JD and his wife Elizabeth separated, the whiskey enthusiast started to spend less time in front of the cameras. Many fans believed that the father had cheated, but the couple always denied the rumors. In 2017, JD was accused of sexual assault, as per People, by a woman named Susan Johnson.
The female alleged JD had drugged her by slipping something into her drink, noting that she woke up and found him on top of her. Only five months later, Susan was charged with filing a false police report against JD. In 2018, JD was arrested for writing a bad check.
JD Shut Down His Social Media & His Restaurant
Southern Charm fans couldn't help but notice that JD just slid into the background. The former star's social media has also gone dark, as JD has deleted his Instagram, which means that he never posts updates. Viewers also find it interesting that he hasn't given a single interview since he left the series. JD was also forced to close his famed Gentry Bar & Grill after failing to pay the rent. However, viewers can still buy his whiskey online if they want to.
What Is JD Up To Now?
As of February 2025, JD's whereabouts are still unknown. He has not returned to Southern Charm since his final guest appearance in season 5. Shortly before JD never appeared on the Bravo series again, he and his wife, Elizabeth, separated; however, it seems like they never went through with an actual legal divorce. While there is no information about what is going on in their marriage, it's safe to say the two stayed separated. While JD doesn't have social media anymore, his wife does.
Elizabeth's Instagram only has six posts, and the last one she shared was from November 2023. While she isn't active online as well, Elizabeth has been more active on social media recently than JD. JD's X (formerly known as Twitter) is still available to look at, but he has not posted to it since June 2017, almost eight years ago. Being away from the spotlight for so long proves JD wants to remove himself from Southern Charm and reality TV in general.
It's been a while since JD has appeared on TV screens, and he seems completely content with that. A return to Southern Charm is not likely to be in the cards; plus, after his sexual assault allegations, viewers would probably boycott the show if they ever brought him back. It's safe to say JD's presence on the show is better left in the past.
Southern Charm airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
