The Masked Singer season 13 welcomes back host Nick Cannon, along with panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora. The season has a "Lucky 13" theme, and will feature 15 contestants competing for the coveted Golden Mask trophy.

The Masked Singer season 13 will feature exciting new theme nights including Lucky 13 on premiere night, followed by Shrek, Ghostbusters, Grand Ole Opry (in honor of its 100th anniversary), Rat Pack, Voices of Olympus: Unmasking the Gods, Carnival, Boy Bands, and Decades Nights. In addition, Soundtrack of My Life Night will return.

According to Variety, The Masked Singer season 13 will feature exciting new theme nights including Lucky 13 on premiere night, followed by Shrek, Ghostbusters, Grand Ole Opry (in honor of its 100th anniversary), Rat Pack, Voices of Olympus: Unmasking the Gods, Carnival, Boy Bands, and Decades Nights. In addition, Soundtrack of My Life Night will return. For The Masked Singer season 13, there will also be a "Lucky 6 Speed Guessing" episode, in which the final six contestants will compete. The semi-finals episode will be titled, "Clash of the Masks."

The Masked Singer season 13 will also introduce a new character called Detective Lucky Duck, who'll appear throughout the season to give clues, much like Donnie Wahlberg's season 5 character, Cluedle Doo, and has an Australian accent. So far, nine competing characters have been officially revealed, including Ant, Bat, Cherry Blossom, Coral, Fuzzy Peas, Griffin, Honey Pot, Paparazzo, and Space Ranger.

The Masked Singer YouTube channel has released a first look video, which gives a sneak peek of the season. It begins with Nick saying, "It's your lucky day, 'cause The Masked Singer is back, and season 13 is our luckiest ever." He then introduces Lucky Duck, stating, "There's a new quack in town. He's got a beak for clues, and nose for news. Give it up for Detective Lucky Duck!" As the shocked judges react to his introduction, Lucky Duck says, "Greetings, gumshoes. I'm no performer. I've waddled into this feathered fiasco to crack this case wide open."

The Masked Singer season 13 contestant Coral is then shown singing "Luck Be A Lady." Lucky Duck then continues, "I'll be bringing you clues, see. Surprises and fortune throughout the season. Think of me as your personal good luck charm. Today we're on the case to spill the new season's lucky secrets. But first, the suspects." Lucky Duck then opens the door to a room filled with costumes, saying, "Ah, the masked stash! Pay attention! It's all a clue. A-ha! Jackpot!"

As scenes from the season are shown, Rita is heard saying, "I didn't think this show would get any crazier!," while Robin declares, "It's happening!" Lucky Duck says, "These masks are the most elaborate, out-of-this-world yet!" As Space Ranger is shown, Rita says that she wants his hat. Paparazzo is then seen singing "That's Amore" in the audience. Lucky Duck then adds, "This season's themes are off the map," as scenes from Shrek, Rat Pack, Grand Ole Opry, Ghostbusters, and other theme nights are revealed.

Luck Duck continues, "So join me on this duck-duck-goose chase, as we roll the dice to crack the case of the mysterious masked warblers." He concludes by saying, "Oh, who am I, you say? Well, that's another bird of a feather altogether. Stay tuned, and good luck!"

What Brand-New Theme Nights Mean For The Masked Singer Season 13

The Theme Nights Could Be Clues To The Contestants' Identities

In the past, the Masked Singer theme nights have connected to some of the contestants. For example, NFL player Kobie Turner's Goo debuted on Sports Night, while music festival favorite AJ Michalka's Strawberry Shortcake was introduced on Who Are You Fest Night. It'll be intriguing to see if any of the season 13 contestants' identities are connected to the brand-new themes and what clues they might give away.

In addition to being clues, the Masked Singer theme nights are fun and entertaining to watch. The panelists dress for the occasion, and sometimes even take the stage for theme-related performances. A few theme nights have even featured special guests related to the themes, which makes them even more thrilling. Boy Band and Decades Nights are sure to be crowd-pleasers. Voices of Olympus: Unmasking the Gods and Carnival Nights sound fascinating and unique. In addition, Soundtrack of My Life Night always brings a lot of feeling to The Masked Singer as the contestants share emotional details about their lives.

The Masked Singer season 13 is jam-packed with spectacular themes, sensational costumes, and a Lucky Duck who's going to spice things up. The contestants seem to be magnificent performers so far, so the competition will likely be fierce.
