Forza Horizon 5 Is Coming To PlayStation This Spring
Despite the series historically being known as Xbox exclusive games, Forza Horizon 5 surprised fans by announcing that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 in Spring 2025. Previously, Microsoft Gaming's CEO Phil Spencer had confirmed that some of Xbox's exclusive games will begin to come to other consoles, including other titles synonymous with Xbox such as Halo. Even knowing that, this confirmation that Xbox's popular racing series is joining the list of cross-platform games still came as a surprise for many.
One of the highest-rated games of the decade, Forza Horizon 5 has continued to hold an active fanbase despite releasing in 2021. New content in the form of Rally Adventure and Hot Wheelsexpansions and numerous car packs have helped to keep players returning, all of which will be available on the PS5.
Alongside the PS5 launch of Forza Horizon 5, a free content update will be added to all versions of the game. Cross-play between platforms will also be supported, so players on the PS5 will easily be able to play with others on PC and Xbox consoles.
Forza Horizon 5 Will Hit PlayStation Spring 2025

At the time of writing, there is currently no specific date for when PS5 players can expect to start racing through the open-world of the Horizon Festival, with only a vague "Spring 2025" release window provided. Forza Horizon 5 is available for players to wishlist on the PlayStation Store, which will then give notifications to players when the game launches.
There are no store pages for the expansion content, such as the popular Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels expansion, but it has been confirmed that these will be available for purchase for the PS5. The free content update, Horizon Realms, will also be launching on all platforms, with more information to come soon. Horizon Realms is said to provide players with a "chance to explore a curated collection of some of the community's favorite previously released Evolving Worlds, alongside some other surprises."

Many have been surprised by the news that Xbox would allow another of their most popular games to leave the profitable exclusive title behind to venture onto other platforms. Several expressed their surprise on a recent Reddit thread started by user Turbostrider27, who shared the news of the PS5 release. Comments such as the following from Lub1k seem to sum up how many of us are currently feeling; nobody would have believed it years ago.
While the news may be unexpected, it is also incredibly exciting for many who, like myself, love the Forza series but wish we could enjoy it on PS5. This opens the game up to a new audience of players who might not have had access to a PC or Xbox to try the games in the past. As a multiplayer game, the move to PlayStation will also add energy and revitalize the game as friends, family, and more in the gaming community get to see for themselves how incredible a game Forza Horizon 5 is.
